The Richmond, Illinois Citizens Police Academy is a free 10 week course

The course runs from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm for 10 consecutive Wednesdays.

The Academy provides a hands-on training program in a friendly atmosphere.

The course is open to all Richmond and neighboring area residents and workers.

The course is taught by officers from the Richmond Police Department and closely follows the actual hands-on training that the Police officers themselves undergo.

Our goal is to educate and build a closer bond with our resident and business community.

We guarantee that once you have taken this course, you’ll have a better understanding of the criminal justice system, be more aware of your surroundings and your eyes will be opened to a world that you never knew existed.
